World Refugee Day is June 20. Resources Available from CLWR

CLWRCanadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) has released the following information concerning the World Refugee Day scheduled for June 20.

June 20 marks World Refugee Day, when the international community celebrates the stories, the perseverance and the contributions of people who have been forcibly displaced.

Working with refugees is a large part of CLWR’s work, and generous support from Canadian Lutherans like you is helping make lives better. A shocking number of people—almost 43 million—are forcibly displaced in the world today.

Please join us in praying for refugees, learning more about who they are and what they’ve experienced, and supporting them in their journey.

We encourage you to make use of our worship resource in a Refugee Sunday, or get your Sunday school or youth group engaged in a role-playing activity that explores refugee experiences.

For our World Refugee Day fundraiser, we wish to call attention to the great need for education for refugee children. Only $15 will help send a “Quick Kit” with school supplies, hygiene supplies and a toy to a child.

  • Worship: Refugee Sunday resource (Pray)
  • Engage children & youth: Sunday school/youth group activities (Learn)
