Jesus, Friend of Sinners — Casting Crowns

The Pharisees accused Jesus of “welcoming sinners and eating with them.” (Luke 15:2) On another occasion the Pharisees asked Jesus’s followers, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?” And on hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.'” (Matthew 9:12) Oh, that we would be more like Jesus!

Casting Crowns sings of Jesus’s friendship with “sinners”.  In the second video,  Mark Hall, the lead singer for Casting Crowns, has a brief reflection on the message of “Jesus, Friend of Sinners.”
