Communion Hymn (Behold the Lamb) — Stuart Townend

The Christian Church celebrates Maundy Thursday today. On this day Christians remember, not only Jesus’ selfless act of washing his disciples feet, but also remember (and observe!) Jesus’ institution of the Lord’s Supper, “Do this in remembrance of me.” Essential to the missio Dei (the mission of God) is the Lord coming to us in the Divine Service and feeding us with the very Body and Blood of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. Through the Holy Meal, our Lord fortifies our faith and then He sends us to a world enslaved in sin so that we might proclaim the saving name of the Lamb who was slain for the sins of all people.
