CLWR Reports Education and Water Make a Difference in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya

Water CLWRCanadian Lutheran World Relief is engaged in serving refugees in various regions of the world. In the January 2015 CLWR News Briefs, there is a focus on the work taking place in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya.

Two fundamental needs in a refugee community are education and water.   CLWR reports:

Our partners at Lutheran World Federation in Kenya have shared with us the 2014 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam results for schools in the Kakuma Refugee Camp. They show that despite difficult conditions, strong efforts are being made to get kids in school, and that kids are eager to learn and succeed.

Your support for education projects like the Giving School-Day campaign and the Equip a Classroom gift help make education for refugee children possible!

CLWR has produced a short video to give you an inside look at some of the successes and challenges of providing clean, sufficient water to each person in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Please take a few minutes to watch the following video and share it with your congregation, family and friends.
